What Christians SHOULD do

I am a born-again Christain and a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat who is NOT uncomfortable with the Democratic Party.  I AM uncomfortable with my fellow church goers who have chosen to blindly follow this administration and anyone with an (R) after their name.
When did being a Christian mean going to war with countries who have a govenrment of which you do not approve?  When did Jesus advocate taking money AWAY from the children and elderly?  When did Jesus place more of a value on the lives of His followers than on those who did not believe (as many of my friends feel about those non-Christians in the middle east)?
Jesus came to save the lost, not to sponsor governments or force others into His teachings through the strong arm of the Roman Empire.
We (the Democrats) need to appeal to the Christian community.  We need to point out how, through fear and buzz words, the Right wing has been an opportunist in its coopting of the Christian community and their votes.
My fellow Christians need to realize that those who choose to believe differently than we do should be allowed to live under their belief system, and not some set of religiously based laws.
I know, I know, the "Ten Commandments" are a basis for some of our laws, but there is nothing in them at all about Gay Marriage, and a whole lot of right-wingers break #3.
